The fact that she has previously managed the day to day operations of (perhaps) the country's best land grant institution for the last eight years is also a huge plus in her favor. Of course, Biddy completed her PhD in German literature in 1985 from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, so this would be a homecoming for her.
Late Thought: Did Biddy actually see this coming by naming a Deputy Provost last year? Probably not, but it would help to ease the transition.
